CVE-2014-0195
- Severity: medium (CVSS 6.8 v2.0)
- Exploited in the wild: not listed in CISA KEV
- EPSS: 100.0% probability of exploitation in the next 30 days
- Public exploit or detection template: none known
- Published: 2014-06-05 · updated 2026-06-17

Description
The dtls1_reassemble_fragment function in d1_both.c in OpenSSL before 0.9.8za, 1.0.0 before 1.0.0m, and 1.0.1 before 1.0.1h does not properly validate fragment lengths in DTLS ClientHello messages, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (buffer overflow and application crash) via a long non-initial fragment.
Affected products
- Fedoraproject Fedora: 19, 20
- MariaDB: from 10.0.0 before 10.0.13 — fixed in 10.0.13
- OpenSSL: from 0.9.8 before 0.9.8za; from 1.0.0 before 1.0.0m; from 1.0.1 before 1.0.1h — fixed in 0.9.8za, 1.0.0m, 1.0.1h
- openSUSE Leap: 42.1
- Opensuse: 13.2
How to fix
