CVE-2019-13226
- Severity: high (CVSS 7.0 v3.1)
- Exploited in the wild: not listed in CISA KEV
- EPSS: 0.3% probability of exploitation in the next 30 days
- Public exploit or detection template: none known
- Published: 2019-07-04 · updated 2026-06-17
- Weakness: CWE-59
Description
deepin-clone before 1.1.3 uses a predictable path /tmp/.deepin-clone/mount/<block-dev-basename> in the Helper::temporaryMountDevice() function to temporarily mount a file system as root. An unprivileged user can prepare a symlink at this location to have the file system mounted in an arbitrary location. By winning a race condition, the attacker can also enter the mount point, thereby preventing a subsequent unmount of the file system.
Affected products
- Deepin-Clone: before 1.1.3 — fixed in 1.1.3
- Fedoraproject Fedora: 30
How to fix
Upgrade to a fixed version: Deepin-Clone 1.1.3. Check the vendor advisory for mitigations.
