Description
A use-after-free flaw was found in X.Org and Xwayland. The root cursor is referenced in the X server as a global variable. If a client frees the root cursor, the internal reference points to freed memory and causes a use-after-free.

- xorg-x11-server: before 21.1.16 — fixed in 21.1.16
- X.Org xwayland: before 24.1.6 — fixed in 24.1.6
How to fix
Upgrade to a fixed version: xorg-x11-server 21.1.16; X.Org xwayland 24.1.6. Check the vendor advisory for mitigations.
