CVE-2026-111066: AIOHTTP: File descriptor exhaustion in multipart requests
- Severity: high (CVSS 8.2 v4.0)
- Exploited in the wild: not listed in CISA KEV
- EPSS: 0.4% probability of exploitation in the next 30 days
- Public exploit or detection template: none known
- Published: 2026-10-19 · updated 2026-10-20
- Weakness: CWE-400
Description
AIOHTTP is an asynchronous HTTP client/server framework for asyncio and Python. From 2.0.0 until 3.14.4, multipart request processing can retain an unbounded number of open file descriptors. An unauthenticated attacker can consequently exhaust file descriptors with specially crafted multipart requests when a handler uses Request.post(). This issue is fixed in version 3.14.4.
Affected products
- Pypi Aiohttp: from 2.0.0 before 3.14.4; 2.0.0, 2.0.1, 2.0.2, 2.0.3, 2.0.4, 2.0.5 (+199) — fixed in 3.14.4
- aio-libs aiohttp: from 2.0.0, < 3.14.4
How to fix
Upgrade to a fixed version: Pypi Aiohttp 3.14.4. Check the vendor advisory for mitigations.
