CVE-2026-120209: AJ-Report through 1.7.1 Authentication Bypass leading to RCE via Share-Token

Description

AJ-Report through 1.7.1 signs share tokens with a hard-coded JWT secret, allowing attackers to forge valid Share-Tokens offline. Attackers can mint a token with reportCode 'dataSet' to access the testTransform endpoint, which passes scripts to GroovyClassLoader for unauthenticated remote code execution.

Summary

AJ-Report through 1.7.1 uses a hard-coded JWT secret to sign share tokens, so attackers can forge valid Share-Tokens offline. A forged token with reportCode 'dataSet' grants access to the testTransform endpoint, which passes scripts to GroovyClassLoader and enables unauthenticated remote code execution. Rated CVSS 9.8 critical; it is not listed in CISA KEV, and no in-the-wild exploitation is confirmed by the provided facts. Upgrade AJ-Report beyond 1.7.1 to a fixed release, or restrict access to the testTransform endpoint and rotate the JWT secret as mitigation.
