CVE-2026-2092: Keycloak-services: keycloak: unauthorized access via improper validation of encrypted saml assertions
- Severity: high (CVSS 7.7 v3.1)
- Exploited in the wild: not listed in CISA KEV
- EPSS: 0.4% probability of exploitation in the next 30 days
- Public exploit or detection template: none known
- Published: 2026-03-18 · updated 2026-10-06
- Weakness: CWE-1287
Description
A flaw was found in Keycloak. Keycloak's Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) broker endpoint does not properly validate encrypted assertions when the overall SAML response is not signed. An attacker with a valid signed SAML assertion can exploit this by crafting a malicious SAML response. This allows the attacker to inject an encrypted assertion for an arbitrary principal, leading to unauthorized access and potential information disclosure.
Affected products
- Red Hat build of Keycloak 26.4: from 26.2 before 26.2.14; from 26.4 before 26.4.10 — fixed in 26.2.14, 26.4.10
How to fix
Upgrade to a fixed version: Red Hat build of Keycloak 26.4 26.2.14, 26.4.10. Check the vendor advisory for mitigations.
