- Severity: medium (CVSS 5.5 v3.1)
- Exploited in the wild: not listed in CISA KEV
- EPSS: 0.1% probability of exploitation in the next 30 days
- Public exploit or detection template: none known

- Weakness: CWE-476
Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: cdns3: gadget: fix NULL pointer dereference in ep_queue When the gadget endpoint is disabled or not yet configured, the ep->desc pointer can be NULL. This leads to a NULL pointer dereference when __cdns3_gadget_ep_queue() is called, causing a kernel crash. Add a check to return -ESHUTDOWN if ep->desc is NULL, which is the standard return code for unconfigured endpoints. This prevents potential crashes when ep_queue is called on endpoints that are not ready.
Affected products
- Linux kernel: from 5.4 before 5.15.203; from 5.16 before 6.1.168; from 6.2 before 6.6.134; from 6.7 before 6.12.81; from 6.13 before 6.18.22; from 6.19 before 6.19.12 — fixed in 5.15.203, 6.1.168, 6.12.81, 6.18.22, 6.19.12, 6.6.134
How to fix
Upgrade to a fixed version: Linux kernel 5.15.203, 6.1.168, 6.12.81, 6.18.22. Check the vendor advisory for mitigations.
