CVE-2026-46293: clk: microchip: mpfs-ccc: fix out of bounds access during output registration
- Severity: high (CVSS 7.1 v3.1)
- Exploited in the wild: not listed in CISA KEV
- EPSS: 0.1% probability of exploitation in the next 30 days
- Public exploit or detection template: none known
- Published: 2026-06-08 · updated 2026-07-23
- Weakness: CWE-125
Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: clk: microchip: mpfs-ccc: fix out of bounds access during output registration UBSAN reported an out of bounds access during registration of the last two outputs. This out of bounds access occurs because space is only allocated in the hws array for two PLLs and the four output dividers that each has, but the defined IDs contain two DLLS and their two outputs each, which are not supported by the driver. The ID order is PLLs -> DLLs -> PLL outputs -> DLL outputs. Decrement the PLL output IDs by two while adding them to the array to avoid the problem.
Affected products
- Linux kernel: from 6.1 before 6.1.175; from 6.2 before 6.6.140; from 6.7 before 6.12.88; from 6.13 before 6.18.30; from 6.19 before 7.0.7 — fixed in 6.1.175, 6.12.88, 6.18.30, 6.6.140, 7.0.7
How to fix
Upgrade to a fixed version: Linux kernel 6.1.175, 6.12.88, 6.18.30, 6.6.140. Check the vendor advisory for mitigations.
