CVE-2026-56076: PraisonAI - Cross-Origin Agent Execution via Hardcoded Wildcard CORS and Missing Authentication on AGUI Endpoint
- Severity: high (CVSS 8.1 v3.1)
- Exploited in the wild: not listed in CISA KEV
- EPSS: 0.6% probability of exploitation in the next 30 days
- Public exploit or detection template: none known
- Published: 2026-06-18 · updated 2026-10-08
- Weakness: CWE-942
Description
PraisonAI before 1.5.128 contains a cross-origin agent execution vulnerability in the AGUI endpoint that allows remote attackers to trigger arbitrary agent execution. The POST /agui endpoint lacks authentication and hardcodes Access-Control-Allow-Origin: * headers, combined with Starlette's Content-Type-agnostic JSON parsing, enabling attackers to bypass CORS preflight checks via simple requests and exfiltrate sensitive agent responses including tool execution results and environment data.
Affected products
- PraisonAI: before 1.5.128 — fixed in 1.5.128
How to fix
Upgrade to a fixed version: PraisonAI 1.5.128. Check the vendor advisory for mitigations.
