CVE-2026-56225: Capgo - Authorization Bypass in API Key Management via App-Limited Keys
- Severity: high (CVSS 8.3 v3.1)
- Exploited in the wild: not listed in CISA KEV
- EPSS: 0.4% probability of exploitation in the next 30 days
- Public exploit or detection template: none known
- Published: 2026-06-23 · updated 2026-10-25
- Weakness: CWE-269
Description
Capgo before 12.128.2 contains an authorization bypass vulnerability in its public API key management handlers (get/put/delete/post). API keys created with mode=all but restricted to a single app via limited_to_apps are only checked for limited_to_orgs and not for limited_to_apps, so an app-scoped key can enumerate, update, and delete sibling API keys belonging to the same account that are outside its declared app scope, enabling tampering with account-level credentials.
Affected products
- Capgo: before 12.128.2 — fixed in 12.128.2
How to fix
Upgrade to a fixed version: Capgo 12.128.2. Check the vendor advisory for mitigations.
