CVE-2026-90455: Dependency on vulnerable third-party component in Malcolm
- Severity: low (CVSS 3.7 v3.1)
- Exploited in the wild: not listed in CISA KEV
- EPSS: 0.2% probability of exploitation in the next 30 days
- Public exploit or detection template: none known
- Published: 2026-09-11 · updated 2026-10-02
- Weakness: CWE-1395
Description
A prior update that raised a bundled HTTP client library to a version remediating known vulnerabilities was later reverted, reintroducing the earlier, vulnerable version into a log-processing component. The only code path in that component using the library issues a request to a single fixed, trusted vendor URL at initialization and does not process attacker-controlled input through the library, limiting practical exploitability of the reintroduced version in this context.
Affected products
- CISA Malcolm: before v26.06.0 — fixed in v26.06.0
How to fix
Upgrade to a fixed version: CISA Malcolm v26.06.0. Check the vendor advisory for mitigations.
